AZURE SEAS

While our ship was docked at Sorrento, Italy, a frighteningly exciting storm came up. Although prepared to wait out the winds which churned up the stunning blue waters with frothy white caps, we longed for calm seas, so we could anchor in Capri. Surely you've seen the often scary / beautiful waves----not the destructive ones. We remember ours on 3" pale blue ball. You might want to change yours to white or gold.

BARTERED NECKLACE, THE

How times have changes! Seems impossible that less than 100 years ago, a lady of a magnificent Fifth Avenue Mansion in New York City, traded her edifice for---a string of pearls. That building now houses a famous jewelry firm. But does anyone know where that pearl necklace is? Or, what it looked like? BLUE FOOTED BOOBIE

While in the Galapagos Island, with its thousands of indigineous crasture one is struck by one: "the Blue Footed Boobie", whose feet look as if they had been dipped in dye. They flitted across the crystal waters, flapping their wings as they spread their wings and landed INCHES away, totally unafraid of anyone, having no predators. They looked as if they are saying "oh--Guys, --- POSE. Here comes another group! EMBRACEABLE

On a cruise, we met a very wealthy gentleman who was traveling with, and overwhelmed by, a lovely lady companion. To prove his ordor in Dubai he bought her a "slave bracelet" which consisted of a ring for every finger each of which was "connected" to an elaborate bracelet at the wrist. It would have been "too much" at the formal affair but we found the design facinating and we called it "EMBRACEABLE". HOUSE OF LORDS

There can be some argument, we suppose for sweeping away the cobwebs of anchient tradition, such as powdered wigs, but somehow making the HOUSE OF LORDS more "modern", and therefore "accessible", does seem to rob that august body of some of its mystery and awe. In May 1999, we were honored to be escorted through the House by one of its members, and herewith we tip our hats, both to its noble past and its illustrious future. JEWELS OF THE HERMITAGE

The Museum (s) in St Petersburg has a fablous collection of jewels from Byzantine through Renaissance, Baroque to the relatively modern Faberge. All gazzling but some of the early pieces seen positively encrusted with jewels and bright enamels. No "jewel" here, but the rich sence of them we've captured on a 3" red ball. MINT JULEP

Travels give birth to just about all our designs. Some inspiration comes from old memories. Years ago, after a long day of travel , we arrived on Kiawah Island inSouth Carolina and wearily rested in a wicker rocker on an open porch facing the ocean, andsippled a luscious MINT JULEP, the color reflected in our faces as the weariness just drained away. The sun shot rays of silver wat AHHHHHH!!!. Our memory on a 3" celery ball. You can try this on ANY colorball, but remember, there are green sequins and bugles! (WE "snitched this name from a ball we retired years ago!)

We are told that up near the North Pole, the stars are so clear they seem to twinkle golf AND silver, and so close, they can be picked for a bouquet. While on a cruise up the Amazon in Brazil, we were encouraged to visit the OPERA HOUSE in Mamaus., but we were not prepared for the goegenousess that literally drizzles from every corner of this Spanish Baroque architecture. Why here? Why not? We were stunned. No wonder all the top starts past AND present , insist on appearance here is a "must". On a 3" celery ball but you could easily do it on white, gold, lavender, or purple

ORANGE SORBET

(Pronounced Sorbay) One very posh restaruant in Southern France offers some 37 sorbets, which is sort of like a sherbert, but creamier, which they may offer quite small to clean the palate between courses, or as an alternative desert from the more calorie laden sinfully delicious temptations reaching out achiingly from the 3-tier trolly. We chose an orange sorbet, leaning romanntically against a huge scoop of vanilla. On a 3" white ball. You could do it on gold of course. Any other color is strictly up to you
