Istanbul
In the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul, there are some incredibly rich brocades, one of which is an intricate design of warm azure blues, laced with thread of pure gold, anchored in earth browns. How luxurious that court must have been!! Our inspiration on a 3" gold ball.
Kit Price : $80.00 |

Soft As Silk
While in the Orient, we saw some truly fabulous textiles which had designs that LOOKED as though jewels had been embroidered onto some gossamer fabric. But, when we touched them, the designs were FLAT. They were hand painted with the sheerest paints, and were SOFT AS SILK. On a 3" pale blue ball but since all the decorating is white and silver you can choose you favorite color to do this one on.
Kit Price : $55.00 |

HATS AT ASCOT
In June 1999, we were invited by our English friends to be their guests in a box (not all that far from the Queen) for the opening of the Ascot Races. The weather was perfect, everyone in fine fettle, and dressed to the nines, in morning coats and top hats! THAT was rhe MEN! But the LADIES!. It is a time of stunning outrageousness, with oversized headgear, made of feathers, flowers, tulle, fur, pearls--- and just about everything else that might glitter in the sunlight! One was a knockout in gold and black, drizzled with pearls. Our memory on a 3" black ball. Try it on any of our other colors

Morocco
The fantasies of a distant place most likely came from old movies, books, TV, travel journeys and "news" reports. The Casbah, Casablanca, Morocco---one almost expects to see Hedy Lamar: Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, Humphrey Bogart, in every doorway. A couple of hard blinks, and one sees another fantasy. The ladies sport necklaces and bracelets of twisted beads, as they smile, try to charm, and of course, entice you to buy!!!We twisted beads on a 3" royal ball, but you may change the ball color to any of the alternative color we offer

Winged Victory
At the top of a long flight of marble stairs in the Louvre Museum in Paris is a magnificent (even if headless) statue of a woman, whose pleated toga clings as if wet to her body. Manor House, The
When one thinks of a "manor house" it's that big palatial pile up on the hill. You know the one that somehow we've never been IN!. Well!!!, with the elegance and graceful courtliness of this little gem., each of us can think of OUR house as THE MANOR HOUSE. So there, too! ON a 3" purple ball, but it would be equally smart on lavender, gold white and even startling on celery.
Kit Price : $110.00 |

Adrienne
The year 2000 was very exciting for our customer Adrienne Dugger, a fabulous soprano, who made her Metropolitan Opera debut in that hallowed house. Each step in this design is as carefully detailed as is every note and nuance she gives to every role. When those chandeliers rise at the beginning of every performance, and the lights dim, the red and gold flicker and shimmer, awaiting that first glorious entrance; ADRIENNE has arrived. On a 3" gold ball. Of course, you COULD change the ball to white.
Kit Price : $75.00 |

Aladdin
The fable of Aladdin accidentally rubbing a vessel and a genie appearing to grant him any "wish" ----well, haven't we ALL secretly wished we could find that magical container? I have rubbed every pot and pan I could find, and NO SUCH LUCK. However, treat this goodie nicely, and MAYBE without rubbing and only WISHING, your special dream may come true! Our fingers are crossed on a 3" pale blue ball. You might have better luck on white or gold.
Kit Price : $60.00 |

Queen Mum
In 1999, we were guests of the Lord and Lady Haslam in a box for the Royal Ascot Races (LA DEE DAH!!!) Prior to the actual horse contest, there was a "side bet" as to the color dress the Queen Mother would be wearing that day. We picked pink and LOST the bet. The Queen Mother was escorted from her carriage, looking radiant in LAVENDER chiffon, with (of course) matching hat! This regal lady was 99 years young---THEN. On a 3" lavender ball, edged in silver and crystal. You MIGHT want to change the ball to white, gold, MAYBE purple and if you are adventurous, even celery.
Kit Price : $45.00 |

Lace Handkerchief
Last year, the magazine "Town and County" predicted that elegance was returning to fashion. 'Bout time. Soon after, while traveling in Holland, we met a charming lady who showed up at dinner with an intricately embroidered handkerchief tucked into her sleeve. Her stylish black suit was trimmed in lavender and silver. MAYBE she WROTE that article! We remember her on a 3" black ball. You can change the ball to any of our colors that goes with lavender.
Kit Price : $60.00 |
|
Jezebel
If you've done our "Southern Belle" ornament, you will immediately recognize this as the second inspiration from that 1938 Bette Davis film, in which a headstrong young Southern girl is given her first real discipline by Henry Fonda. She has flaunted tradition by wearing a flaming red dress to the season's most prestigious ball, when white was the norm. Once there, she realizes fully and regrets her willfulness. Alas, too late. He forces her on the dance floor while society looks on in stunned disdain. Over 60 years later, the scene still sears the mind. Our memory on a 3" red ball (of course), but you could change the whole plot of that movie by putting it on white.
Kit Price : $54.00 |

Forbidden City
At one time reserved only for members of the Emperor's family, this high-walled enclave can be strolled at leisure. The architecture alone has an aura of mystery, but the jeweled vestments can still overwhelm. One deep emerald silk robe encrusted in silver and diamonds inspired this remembrance. On a 3" emerald ball, but you might want to chage the ball color to gold, white, pine green.
Kit Price : $125.00 |
|
Shamrock
The "Emerald Isle" may be full of "forty shades of green" since it seems to rain there a LOT, but what it IS: awash in warmth. The people are open and friendly and make you feel so welcome! And when that sun does break through, it does so with an operatic brightness that bounces off glistening leaves like flecks of gold. Sure, it takes your breath away. On a 3" emerald ball (what else?) but you could do it on gold, celery or white
Kit Price : $72.00 |

Fire and Ice
To visit SPAIN and not see a professional Flamenco dancing, is to miss one of life's most exhilarating experiences. The ladies, mostly in red, tasteful silver jewelry in their hair, move in tantalizing rhythms, stamping their feet in complicated ways that defy logic, and always seem to have their audiences on THEIR feet and shouting repeated "oles" . On a 3" red ball, but you could try it on white, baby pink or gold.

Cleopatra
On a recent trip to Egypt, how could one not be totally overwhelmed by the sheer HUGENESS of "ruins" of palaces and temples? Without modern machinery, how did they build them? AND to have your blood race, all you have to do is SQUINT and "hear" the trumpets blare, and through that arch comes a procession. Sitting high atop an elephant is Elizabeth Taylor, AS Cleopatra, swathed in gold and purple, violet eyes flashing!. What must that have been like 2,000 years ago? Our fantasy on a 3" purple ball. You could change to celery, white, gold, royal, pale blue, lavender, black, baby pink, navy, desert sunset, dusty rose, silver, and black. We will change the velvet ribbon in the hanger to match.

Vines Along The Rhine
The River cruise boat floated quietly down the Rhine River through Germany, Austria and Hungary. Castles were silhouetted against following clouds. The steep hills made it seem virtually impossible for anything to be tilled much less HARVESTED. But there they were, rows and rows, as far as one could see, grape clusters on vines that seemed as if they would fall into the river. They didn't and wouldn't. And the wine!! Literally fit for the gods, which we ofter pretended to be, On a 3" lavendar ball but you might try this one on white, gold, celery or if you are very brave, pale blue.
Kit Price : $80.00 |
