It is tantalizing to imagine a lovely and delicate maiden adorning herself in some exotic costume, awaiting the arrival of her lover, heart all aflutter., like a butterfly. Our Madame B. is on a 3" gold ball. Of course, it would be stunning on white and a totally different look on red.

Shanghai

 

 

Don't exactly know why, but we were not really looking forward to going to a museum in Shanghai. Boy, were WE WRONG! Although "small" by "The Louvre" standards, it is gorgeously displayed, visitor friendly, beautifully lit, and SURPRISE! ---- all the objects are identified in both Chinese and ENGLISH! (Our museums: take note). An antique screen, with a soft celadon green background, was inlaid and ornamented in black and gold, with half hidden white lotus blossoms peeking out here and there. We remember it on a 3" celery ball and wouldn't change the ball color. But of course YOU could---maybe gold, white or black, but there would still be a touch of celadon green in the hanger.

Grand Duchess

 

 

Perhaps the time for these regal ladies may be gone, and maybe "royalty"these days is kind of on the "outs". But one place (besides museums) where they can hold court is on your tree, like our Queen Victoria, Victorian Winter, Queen's Ring (retired) to name a few. THIS Grand Duchess wears over 4 feet of Austrian "diamonds" in gold plated settings, plus 68 flat-back rhinestones. Our regal lady on a 3" gold ball, but you might want her on white.

Royal Highness

 

 

Even though the Queen Mother , who in 2001 was 100, and the Queen herself seem to prefer pastel colors, there is an ancient connection between the color "royal"and "royalty". For us, the two came together inseparably when viewing the English crown jewels in the Tower of London. On a 3"white ball, but you could maintain the royalty on pale blue, or gold.

Moonbeams on the Bay

 

 

Even if you are totally prepared, on a clear night with a full moon, you open balcony doors and see the Bay of Naples glimmering silver on the deep blue water, and your breath leaves you gasping for air! It is a stunning moment. Our thrill on a 3" white ball, and we wouldn't suggest an alternative color.
